Where Saakashvili’s government was during 2008 August war?


Saakashvili’s supporters and UNM activists often attack Bidzina Ivanishvili, asking him – “Where you have been during Georgian-Russian war?” Bidzina Ivanishvili had vacation at his summerhouse in Ureki (Black Sea resort in Georgia).

Of course those people have right to ask that question.
But I wonder, why they never ask where the Georgian government has been during August 2008 war?
Why they left country in such dramatic moment, and why they never informed population in Shida Kartli timely about advancing Russian army, when they themselves have been running out…

NB!: All MPs, but Giorgi Targamadze, represent Saakashvili’s United National Movement (UNM) in the Parliament.
Saakashvili announced restoration of constitutional order in Tskhinvali region by Live TV appeal at 23:25 PM local time of August 7, 2008.  Interestingly, 4 government officials left country earlier that day. Of course, today they may say they had some important meetings planned…
