Happy New Year! Is it?Posted: 2011/01/02
Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has allotted 25 million GEL ($14 mln.) to carry out New Year concert in Batumi, Georgia on December 31st, 2010. A mixture of Andrea Bocelli and other famous opera singers and skate-dancers, as well as Brazilian carnival dancing and Cuban reggey masters has been watched by several thousand spectators (ticket was free) wearing umbrellas and coats in heavy non-stop rain.
At the same time Georgian government takes no measures at all to help salvation of Georgian sailors held captive by Somalian pirates, who threaten to execute them. At New Year eve Georgian War veterans had hunger strike at Heroes Square, whereas dozens of homeless IDPs live 80 days in tents in front to Ministry for Refugees and Accommodation! Government shows zero interest in those affairs.
